Watch New York Jets Vs. Dallas Cowboys, Live NFL Online Game

Two of the league's most storied franchises hit the international primetime stage on Sunday night as the New York Jets host the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL's first edition of Sunday Night Football for 2011. The AFC's runner up from a season ago looks continue its progression in 2011 and will be in contention once again as a Superbowl contender and they get their first test against the Cowboys who will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing 2010 season in which they finished 6-10.

The Dallas Cowboys enter the 2011 campaign with high aspirations as they look to get back into playoff contention behind a strong offensive performance from quarterback Tony Romo who will be looking to compensate for an injury plagued 2010 that forced the Cowboys to turn to Jon Kitna for the majority of the season. The biggest bright spot in an otherwise discouraging season was the emergence of former Oklahoma State Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant as a reliable option in the Dallas offense which should alleviate the pressure of top receiving target Miles Austin who should be facing more one on one coverage and less double teams as opponent's must be concerned with Bryant. The Cowboys also see the return of all pro tight end Jason Witten to the mix as well as running backs Felix Jones and Tashard Choice who will be splitting time with the absence of Marion Barber from the fold this season. Defensively the Cowboys are still respectable with the likes of Keith Brooking, Demarcus Ware, and Terrence Newman leading the way and if their defensive unit can do enough to keep their high octane offense on the field as long as possible than Dallas could very well find themselves back in contention in the NFC East.

The Jets enter the season looking to overcome that final speed bump and represent the AFC in the Superbowl this season and with head coach Rex Ryan continually lighting a fire under his players you can be sure his club will be motivated. Former USC Trojans quarterback Mark Sanchez continues his growth and progression as an NFL starting pivot and although Sanchez gets criticized for his lack of offensive output he is a great game manager and has found great success as a quarterback in his short time in the NFL to date. Sanchez has the luxury of throwing to some very talented receivers as Santonio Holmes and the newly acquired Plaxico Burress will play 1-2 at wideout and veteran Derrick Mason will play third fiddle as a possession receiver. Furthermore, the Jets have a great option at tight end in Dustin Keller and a great one two tandem in Shonn Greene and LaDanian Tomlinson in the backfield which should give the Jets plenty of time to throw the ball on play action and misdirection. Defensively the Jets remain one of the best in the NFL as their secondary is comparable to that of the Eagles in the NFC with Darelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie acting as shut down corners and Bart Scott leading a linebacking crew who will be a force to be reckoned with again this season.
